About Parship
Home to over ten million members throughout Europe and 1.3 million in the UK. Members here are mainly looking to build long term relationships. So if you are just looking for a little bit of fun, then this is definitely not the right place for you.
Dating Site Features
From the home page you can easily view if you have any new messages, recent visitors and also profiles of members that have been recommended to you with help from the compatibility matching system.
There is a status update option similar to Facebook, and you can also switch your availability on or off.
When it comes to contacting other members you have the option to send a message, a smiley or an ice breaker.
An additional feature is the option to write notes on a person, this allows you to keep track of any important things they have told you about themselves during your conversations.
The interface is very intuitive and there is an iPhone app available but unfortunately no Android app at this time.
Gender Balance and Numbers
On Parship members are evenly split between the sexes, with a ratio of 51:49 between male and female members. The total number of UK members hovers around the 1.3 million mark. And 95% of the members are looking for long term commitment. If you are not looking for serious commitment, then a casual dating site like Benaughty.com would certainly be a much better choice.
Creating a Profile
Creating a profile requires you to complete the personality test questionnaire. This has been designed by psychologists to help match you with partners deemed to be most compatible with you. You’ll probably want to grab a mug of coffee here since it will take you about 30 minutes to complete the questionnaire. Take your time and be honest. If you make stuff up just to get to the end, you may find that you are matched to people who are the complete opposite of what you are looking for.
Profile Authenticity
Parship appears to do a good job of keeping fake profiles under control. Over the course of our three month trial, we spotted just three profiles which were clearly fake, we reported these and they were removed within an hour. Still, despite the relatively scam free environment, it’s recommended to be on your toes and extra cautious of profiles or messages that sound too good to be true.
Membership Cost
It’s free of charge to register. You can also create your own profile, upload photos, send ice breakers, complete the personality questionnaire and search existing members for free. But if you wish to send and receive emails then you need to upgrade to a full membership subscription. The current full membership prices for Parship are:
£19.90 for a 6 month subscription (50% saving)
£29.90 for a 3 month subscription (50% saving)
£39.90 for a 1 month subscription
You can choose to pay using: American Express, Mastercard, Visa, PayPal and Click and Buy.
Pros and Cons
95% looking for a serious relationship
Over 10 million members in Europe
Even split between male and female members
Mobile support and iPhone app
Single months membership is expensive
Conclusion
Parship is truly a great dating site if you are looking for a serious relationship with a like minded professional.
It’s easy to register and navigating the site using the all the tools on offer is child’s play.
One criticism is the price of the one months membership package. But if you are joining for 3 months or longer then the price is on par with similar UK dating sites.
However, Parship does rather disappoint when it comes to re-billing. Their automated system is not easy to cancel and this has led to a number of complaints about continued payments being taken despite members attempts to cancel.
Parship also has some very formidable competition in the form of matchaffinity.com who appear to be beating them in the popularity stakes at present.
So are you ready to find your soul mate?
